About Una Vida:

Una Vida fosters community, giving, compassion, and connection by acting as a bridge between trip participants and the communities where we work in the Dominican Republic and Haiti.  For many volunteers, this is their first exposure to a foreign culture, their first time in a developing country, and the first step on a life-long journey of dedication to a cause greater than themselves.

Mission:

Una Vida’s mission is to empower impoverished families of rural Dominican Republic and Haiti while strengthening and reaffirming our own shared humanity, our need for empathy, and our devotion to serving others.

We serve all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender, and we encourage the participation of volunteers from diverse backgrounds.

Vision:

Our vision is that each person who participates in our program adopts the conviction that it is our human responsibility to lead a life of service and generosity.
We believe that we are all accountable for recognizing and solving the issues facing our global community, and that we cannot continue to ignore the people that comprise the majority of our world’s population. Una Vida’s vision will be fulfilled as participants translate the lessons of their immersion experience into action.
